4 Easy Steps to Place Pictures on Your Photo Locket

If you are a proud and happy owner of a photo locket, you will need to place your photo and your loved one’s photo inside that locket as well. Your gold locket or any other photo locket will only look complete once you have a perfectly sized photo or photos inside that eye-catching oval work of art. Here are 4 steps that will make it a breeze to fit photos inside this little cabinet full of memories.

You will first need to measure your photo locket. If you have a gold locket that is heart shaped or round or oval in shape, you will need to adjust the size and cut the photos accordingly. You will need to open your locket and measure the exact size where your photos will be framed. If your medallion has plastic inserts, you will need to remove these with a small pair of tweezers. A simple squeeze in the right place will open the inserts which will now need to be used as a frame to increase the size of your photos.

If you have ready photos of yourself or a loved one that you want immortalized inside your photo locket, you can simply place the insert over the photo. You can choose what you want to include within the insert and once you have made your decision, you need to trace the outside of your insert onto the photo. However, if you only have photos on your computer, you’ll need to print them first. You can also crop or resize the photo before printing it if you have adequate experience using photo editing software. Now you can print the photos and trace them to size, if necessary.

Once you’ve traced your photos, all you need to do is use a sharp pair of scissors to cut them into oval shapes. Your gold locket may be made of 14, 18, or 24 karat gold, but the photos you place inside cannot compare in terms of price. Once your photos are cut to the exact size of your oval locket inserts, you are ready to place them in your locket. You have to insert the photos from one side in the space given for those photos. You will now need to put the previously removed insert back into its original place.

Once your insert is positioned over the photo, you will need to lock it back into its original position so that your photo is securely sandwiched between the body of the locket and the insert. Once your photo is snug under the insert, you can take your pliers and push them in to lock the insert in its original place. If your oval locket accommodates two photos, you simply need to use this process twice so that each photo is secured in the locket while the memories these photos hold remain safe within your heart.

A gold locket offers you the opportunity to store your memories for several decades in style. Whether you opt for an engraved or inlaid oval locket, these simple steps will have you quickly and cleanly placing photos on your photo locket in no time.
