Film Review – Delhi Belly The Movie

Released on July 1, Delhi belly is an Indian comedy film shot in English with a bit of Hindi. It is directed by Abhinay Deo, the son of veteran actors Ramesh and Seema Deo. He is an advertising filmmaker turned director and has shown great direction in the form of “Delhi Belly”.

The revision:

The Delhi Belly revolves around three roommates, Tashi Dorjee Lhatoo (Imran Khan), Nitin Berry (Kunaal Roy Kapur) and Arup (Vir Das) who lead neglected and debt-ridden lives. The Belly of Delhi has been in the news as it is filled with adult language, catchy songs, and offbeat sex shows. There are sparks of humor and vulgar scenes throughout the film and this is what makes it worth watching. I bet you won’t get bored while watching this movie.

The film begins with Sonia’s arrival in the city, where she meets Vladimir Dragonsky and agrees to deliver a package on his behalf to the address mentioned by him. Sonia hands the package to Tashi, who in turn asks Arup to deliver it to her. Arup then hands the package over to Nitin for delivery, but Nitin forgets to do so because he is experiencing ‘Delhi Belly’ (stomach problems).

Thus, the Package continues to float and is eventually delivered to the recipient, a gangster named Somayajulu by Arup. In addition to the package, Arup also has to deliver another package containing Nitin’s stool sample to Nitin’s Doctor. He mixes the two, which enrages Somayajulu and begins the investigation by questioning Vladimir. The movie revolves around the chaos created by the exchange of packages.

Meanwhile, Tashi is attracted to menaka, a journalist and has to provoke the ire of her ex-husband Rajiv. He begins to think about whether he really wants to marry Sonia. Here, Vladimir informs Somayajulu that the confusion must have been caused by Sonia, as she did not know what was in the package. Somayajulu then calls Sonia and tells her about the package confusion and also asks her to give the address of the person who was going to deliver the packages. Somayajulu then goes to the address and finds Arup and makes him stand on the stool while his neck is tied with a tie to the ceiling. Meanwhile, Tashi arrives at the apartment to find Arup tied to the ceiling. By questioning Tashi, Somayajulu discovers the location of his packages.

Nitin obtains the packages from the doctor’s clinic and Somayajulu snatches them from him to examine the 30 diamonds that should be in the package. After finding them safe, he orders his men to kill the three friends, Tashi, Arup, and Nitin. Meanwhile, the roof Arup is tied to falls down, injuring Somayajulu and his men. Tashi, Arup, and Nitin escape from them along with the diamonds and celebrate their good fortune. They sell the diamonds to the owner of a local jewelry store the next day. But to his dismay and bad luck, Somayajulu kidnaps Sonia and threatens to kill her if the diamonds are not handed over to him. The trio, feeling disgusted, go to the jeweler’s owner for the diamonds, only to be told they will have to pay double.

The trio begin to worry when Tashi comes up with a plan. Nitin, Arup, Tashi, and Menaka dress up in burqa and go to the jewelry store. They scam the owner, get his diamonds back, and give his money back. Then they go to the hotel where Somayajulu has held Sonia. Meanwhile, the police also get there following Tashi’s car as they chase him for stealing from the jewelry store. The trio hands Somayajulu the diamonds and tells her to leave Sonia behind. The police enter the room by then and a shot occurs in which only Tashi, Nitin, Arup and Sonia survive. Tashi then chooses Menaka over Sonia, but Menaka refuses to go with him. Later, when Menaka approaches Tashi’s house to deliver her belongings, Tashi jumps in her car through the open window and kisses her hard.
