Free traffic is right under your nose

Many of us are interested in driving traffic to our website, but there are very few of us who can afford it on a consistent basis. Yes, some of the biggest websites have people behind them who tend to have very deep pockets. However, for most of us, our pockets are not very deep, and unless we can make a profit by paying for traffic, we’d rather find a way to get it for free.

Even if we could pay for traffic on a consistent basis, free traffic is still a very nice thing for many of us. Not only does it come to us for free, many of the sources that bring it our way tend to send very targeted traffic. Here are three different ways you can find free and targeted traffic to visit your web page. Put these things in motion and work on them consistently, you’ll be amazed at how much traffic it can actually send you.

The first thing we are going to talk about is search engine optimization. This is something that has been done for many years and although most of us have a general understanding of how it is achieved, very few of us actually carry it out consistently. The fact is, if you’re not working on the search engine optimization of your website, you’re leaving a lot of money on the table. Look for some very specific, low-competition keyword phrases that you can easily rank for in search engines. Do everything in your power to bring your website to the top whenever these keyword phrases are searched for. Through a series of on-page and off-page optimization techniques, you can start a flood of free traffic to your website that will continue for a long time. Not only will it be free, but it will be as specific as you think.

Another source of free traffic is video marketing. This is something that wasn’t really available a few years ago, but now, it seems that people just can’t get enough of watching videos online. You don’t need to be an expert at putting together videos to be successful at this. In fact, you can stitch together a slideshow of images and include an audio track in the background and people will pass it along if it’s interesting enough. The great thing about video marketing is that it’s free and you’re not really limited in the number of attempts. If one doesn’t work, put another one in and eventually you’ll find gold.

The final form we are going to talk about is forum marketing. Forums are really online communities where people get together to talk about a specific topic. If you find one of these areas that is related to what your website has to offer, you can receive a lot of targeted traffic. However, it is important that you understand that you are not simply going to the forum to leave your link. Join the conversation and just leave your link in passing, perhaps in the signature box at the bottom of their post. If you make your information compelling enough, people will naturally follow your website to see what you have to offer.
