Windows Mobile 6 was released several months ago, and although we tested a few devices at the time that featured the new operating system, we weren’t too happy with the result. While Microsoft wasn’t doing very well with its latest OS upgrade, the same can’t be said for the HTC HD2 OS. The user interface, Touch FLO 3D, was really much better than what Microsoft could offer.

But since HTC doesn’t just make visual changes to everything it puts on the market, we had time to get its latest phone, the HTC HD2, and take a closer look. The specifications feature a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. Yes, it is greater than what the iPhone offers. The phone has 448 RAM and 512 ROM, comes with famous Snap Dragon CPU clocked at 1 GHZ, G-sensor, Wi-Fi, Dual Band UMTS, Bluetooth, Quad Band GSM, Windows Mobile version 6.5 and A -GPS. Apart from the fact that the technical specifications are very impressive, the phone also has a 5 MP camera that has a dual LED flash.

As for the hardware of the HTC HD2, it is really impressive, there is nothing to comment on it and although many users will be a little disappointed to see Windows Mobile version 6.5 on it, they will surely be surprised by its features.

Camera

The camera of the phone is really superior and if you used other phones that had a camera with the same number of megapixels, then surely you can measure the difference between the camera of this phone and another one. The fact that it features a dual LED flash gives it a nice advantage. The camera also features autofocus capabilities, and if you want, you can also tap it to focus. That is really a good option.

Battery

I wish things were better in this chapter, but unfortunately it’s not. If you are someone who uses such a phone only for browsing the Internet, then the battery will be enough for you. But if you are willing to engage in other activities such as recording videos, taking photos, then the battery will not last a single day. The 1230 mAh lithium-ion battery just doesn’t break through.

Keyboard

There have been some changes to that and it introduces haptic feedback. If you want to get additional numbers and letters, you just have to touch and hold the keyboard. Although it’s a nice addition, the accuracy isn’t really that great.

Browser

You will be pleasantly surprised to see that Opera is the main browser on the phone. To zoom in and out, you will need to double tap. It’s a great browser and a good surprise for phone users.

In short, I highly recommend the HTC HD2, its unique large LCD screen along with its powerful processing will make this little computer look really smart in your pocket.
