Joint Ventures: Finding and Approaching Joint Venture Partners

The best marketers receive a multitude of requests for joint ventures on a regular basis. You must create a new approach or have a unique selling proposition to reach the group leader.

I find that working on building relationships with potential joint venture partners works best. You will need to make a connection based on mutual possibilities. You will have a better chance of getting what you want if you act with integrity and offer to help them in any way.

Some ways to find potential partners:

1. Search the search engines for the niche you are targeting for the sites. Review the results. You’ll get more sites to view than you possibly want to review.

2. Visit websites you already know in the niche and look for testimonials. Get in touch with the people who leave those testimonials. Testimonials are provided by satisfied customers.

3. Ask your current partners, clients and friends for references.

4. Research the events that are going on: Speakers at events are great potential joint venture partners.

5. Research social sites for possible groups to join.

There are a multitude of ways to approach joint venture partners. Send an e-mail; following up with a request for a phone conversation works well. Use your subject line in your email to your advantage. If you have someone who recommends you, indicate it in your email.

You must expect rejection. If you do not receive a response to your email, you have the opportunity to decide if you want to proceed. Make an effort to review your potential partner’s website before contacting them. Find a reason that makes sense for the initial contact. Showing your knowledge of their efforts and/or experience will help open the door for discussion.

If you get a good close up and it’s just not going to work, leave the door open for later contact. Building relationships takes time! start today.
