Most school administrations consider the use of cell phones disruptive and distracting and have implemented policies that prohibit their use on school property. Cell phones are a disruption at school. Text messages can be used to cheat on exams. Students who are texting cannot give their full attention to the lesson. If a student’s cell phone rings in class, it totally disrupts the class for a considerable period of time. Many cell phones are also camera phones. Camera phones present an invasion of privacy in schools. One of the best ways that we can protect the privacy of each student is to prohibit cell phones at school during the school day.

During the school day, students are to focus on instruction in the classroom without distractions. While phones are very convenient and a common part of everyday life, for the most part, they are a distraction everywhere. Have you ever been on a bus or plane and someone is having a loud personal conversation? In a school, the distraction can be even greater than in a public place. For many teachers, one of the biggest concerns about including cell phones in schools is that they are used inappropriately.

Students do not need cell phones during school hours. Many schools now have phones in the classroom, if it really is an emergency, students are easily contacted. I really don’t understand why some parents are so insistent on being able to communicate with their children at school at any time. Teachers have a tough job as it is. They don’t need to be dealing with kids ringing cell phones, secretly texting each other, going online and taking photos and videos, not to mention the chances of cheating. there are enough distractions

Students text each other all the time during class, and there are times when teachers don’t even notice! Cell phones are very distracting. Are we now slaves to our technology? If the student needs to call home, she only needs to go to the main office or counseling to reach a parent or guardian. Most of the calls home are not for emergencies, they are for simple communication that does not need to be made during school. It must have been a miracle that he made it through that time without the need for a cell phone. Most, if not all, calls will be used in idle conversations. Its current uses are for entertainment, social interaction, and lewd photography. And let’s not ignore parents who would call students DURING CLASS to discuss non-emergency issues. If it is truly an emergency, call the school’s main number and bring the child to the office. There should be NO cell phones in schools.

There are no advantages to the use of cell phones at school. While cell phones are a convenience, however, they do not belong at school with our students. Students will wear them in class regardless of the rules. It will be a disruptive convenience that will benefit only students to talk to someone. They will use it to text their friends or to play games. If there is a true emergency, parents only need to call the school. Cell phones at school will be a total disruption, they will be a good cheating device.

Obviously, the disadvantages of allowing cell phones at school outweigh the advantages. Mobile phones have become a nuisance. Young people have enough distractions. And there’s no difference between looking through your phone and reading a passing grade in class. School is for learning. Students will take it for granted and answer calls during class. It leaves no hope for the class teacher. Whether the phone is on vibrate or not still makes no difference because the teen will be continually looking at the phone in anticipation of a call or text message. Texting has turned out to be just as popular as email and is ubiquitous in the hands of many students, and can cause a complete disruption of classroom chaos.

Distractions like cell phones do not belong in school. There is no need for cell phones in schools, just as there was no need for them in the past. In the case of a true emergency, schools have systems in place that protect children and notify parents. It is the parents who have the right to a cell phone. As a result, they will always be available at any time. Cell phones at school are an unnecessary distraction that takes teachers’ time and can be a source of cheating. Texting is an epidemic. I’m sorry to break this to you, but if you think students won’t text each other while a teacher is teaching, you’re dead wrong. Whether parents feel it is necessary to have cell phones in schools or not, it continues to be a distraction to their children’s education. It is a disservice to our children to allow cell phones in schools. Mobile phones have become a big problem. Kids text during class, which leads to cheating or coordinating other “bad” activities.
